Ellen and Camery

Ellen and Camery were matched in 2008 as part of our Career Navigator program.  Through BBBS sponsored workplace and higher education visits, Camery realized a big world was out there with wonderful opportunities and resources.  Through these experiences Ellen and Camery's relationship grew and a passion for a career in healthcare developed.  Camery graduated in 2017 and is currently a nursing student in college.  Click the image to view their story.  

Joe and Rodolpho

Joe and Rodolpho were first matched in 2008 through our Career Navigator program. Joe helped Rodolpho find his passion and motivation through BBBS structured workplace visits, job readiness programs and other experiences.  Joe was awarded the Iowa Governor's Mentor of the Year Award in 2017.  Rodolpho graduated from West high School in 2018 and as a celebration of their relationship,  they rappelled off the Hotel Blackhawk as part of Over the Edge.  

Jim, Polly and Brandin

Jim, Polly and Brandin were first matched in 2011 as part of our Career Navigator program.  Jim and Polly are married and considered a "couples match" in our program.  This means they are both matched with Brandin and spend time with him together and separately.  Polly is a retired educator and helped Brandin find his passion and motivation academically.  Jim is a local business owner and provided Brandin with exposure to careers and helped him obtain a summer employment.  Brandin graduated from North Scott in 2018 and is pursuing his passion in large part due to Jim and Polly's influence.  Brandin is working professionally at a local country club and attending culinary school!  This match was recognized as one of our 2017 matches of the year!
