AMERICORPS
The federal government has terminated the local AmeriCorps service program effective April 29th, 2025. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley has been a proud leader and advocate for this program for more than 20 years, providing adults in our community with service and job training opportunities. This action terminated current member contracts immediately, as well as eliminated the future of the program as well.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley has benefited from hundreds of AmeriCorps service members over the years, helping recruit and engage new mentors, support our current matches and families, conduct background checks and references for new mentors, and coordinate match activities that help grow match relationships. They have made our organization stronger, as well as our community and our country.
We wish to thank our current and all of our former members for their service.
