Community-Based Mentoring

Community-Based Mentoring

The Community-Based Program is a one-to-one mentoring program that pairs a Little, ages 8–14, with a Big, an adult volunteer age 18 or older. Each Match makes a 12-month commitment to spend time together 2–4 times per month, enjoying fun, free or low-cost activities such as riding bikes, watching movies, visiting museums, or attending sporting events.

Community-Based and School-Based Plus Matches can also take advantage of special discounts and activities offered by our generous community partners – visit our Supporters page to see the local businesses and organizations that make these opportunities possible.

In addition, BBBSMV hosts four large events each year for all Community-Based and School-Based Plus Matches, giving our Bigs and Littles a chance to connect.

Big Futures

Our BIG Futures initiative is a network of support for Littles in 7th-12th grade, along with their Bigs, to discover and explore career interests, develop self-reliance skills, and navigate job-related experiences. BIG Futures empowers Littles on their path to graduation, with a plan for their future.
