What is a BIG?

A Big is an adult volunteer who has been matched with a child.

What is a LITTLE?

A Little is a child who has been matched with an adult volunteer.

What is a Match?

A match is a one-to-one relationship between an adult and a child; which lasts a minimum of one year, meets consistently, and exposes the child to healthy and positive experiences.

What is an Anniversary?

The date an official match is made becomes their anniversary date. Each year, on the official match date, the match meets to review accomplishments, renew their match pledge and develop a new list of goals for the coming year. Eighty-seven percent of our matches reach the one year anniversary.

Does it cost anything?

Families do not pay an enrollment or participation fee.

How long does it take to become a BIG or LITTLE?

Becoming a Big or Little may take as little as two weeks, but the average is one month.

Are you Boys and Girls Club?

No. Big Brothers Big Sisters partners with many organizations in the Mississippi Valley. We are the only one-to-one mentoring organization in the area.
