Local 25 Plumbers and Pipefitters headquartered in Rock Island, IL held their annual Golf Outing at Indian Bluff golf course in September. This annual outing brings current members, retirees, elected officials, and community supporters together to enjoy a day of golf and raise important funds in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Due to the strong response to the event, organizers added a second day this year!
Proceeds from player entry fees, sponsorships and on-course activities generated over $3,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters!
"This is a wonderful partnership we have with Local 25", said Jay Justin, President & CEO of BBBS. "Defending the potential in children in our community and helping them see a positive future is what we do, and we do it strategically with Local 25."
BBBSMV has enjoyed a long partnership with Local 25 and the building trades in the QCA. Local 25 hosts career exploration opportunities for matches throughout the year, sponsors a hole at Putt A Round, participates in other events, and provides in-kind labor for facility projects.
"It's important that kids see their potential, and the staff and training facility at Local 25 is cutting edge," Justin stated. "Kids can see how their education and interests can evolved into building some of the important facilities and infrastructure in our community- they can be a part of things that make our life and community better."
