For more than 10 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley has been a designated host for the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) AmeriCorps program. Also known as the domestic Peace Corps, AmeriCorps provides a living allowance, health insurance, ongoing training and a significant education award to each member who serves. The local AmeriCorps program is managed by the City of Davenport and includes community strategic partners- Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Davenport Community School District, the Girl Scouts and the Iowa State University Extension.
BBBSMV has positions now open for application. The positions focus on various components of our nationally recognized mentoring program- including engagement of adult volunteers as mentors, enrolling adults and children into one of our mentoring platforms, providing ongoing encouragement and support to matches, and working with community partners to provide unique and rewarding experiences for our matches.
