In the News

There were plenty of smiles this holiday season due to the generosity of some special employees and congregation members.

Every year, BBBS is fortunate to work with area organizations to connect them with families during the holiday season.  Because of our strong connection through the match process, BBBS match coaches are well aware of unique needs and circumstances of families with children enrolled in our mentoring program.

Organizations connect with BBBS and provide parameters of the type of gift program they would like to have at their workplace or organization.  BBBS match coaches identify schools, families or specific children that would benefit from holiday gifts and provide specific gift needs identified from the family.  Some items are basic need while others are quality of life enhancements.  Often, BBBS staff will visit the workplace to share information on our organization and the family/child(ren) benefiting from the gift initiative.

Some organization representatives accompanied BBBS with the delivery of the gifts.

Companies participating in the 2016 Holiday Gift program include:

  • Employees of Deliotte
  • Employees of Wells Fargo
  • Employees of Old Orchard Estates
  • Members and staff of Cross Pointe Church
  • John Deere Davenport Works
  • Staff/AmeriCorps Service members of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley
