Milestones ~1989 - Heart to Heart aligns with Big Brothers Big Sisters, becoming Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Quad Cities. ~2001 - BBBSQC expands, covering 13 counties in northwest Illinois. Satellite offices are added in Kewanee and Macomb, Illinois. ~2005- BBBSQC partners with Sauk Valley BBBS ~2007 - Organization changes name to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley to reflect their new regional affiliation Statistics ~4 -Offices BBBSMV works out of (Davenport, Macomb, Monmouth, Sauk Valley) ~14 - Counties BBBSMV covers in Eastern Iowa and northwestern Illinois (Scott, Rock Island, Henry, Carroll, Whiteside, Lee, Ogle, Putnam, LaSalle, Bureau, Mercer, Warren, Henderson, McDonough) ~200 -children mentored in 2002-2003 program year ~$200,000- annual budget in 2003 ($1,000 cost per match) ~1700 - children mentored in 2008-2009 program year ~$1,000,000- annual budget in 2008-2009 ($588 cost per match) ~30 - employees we have working through the AmeriCorps program ~4 - colleges we work with through our campus-based program (Augustana College, St. Ambrose University, Western Illinois University - Macomb, Monmouth College) ~50 - elementary schools that participate in our school-based mentoring program |
